Weekend days to exclude

Use YYYY-MM-DD, one per line or separated by commas. Duplicate dates count once. No national holidays are added automatically.

Enable JavaScript to calculate. Your dates and holiday list stay in this tab.

Your working calendar

Need a holiday list? Find public holidays by country and region, then enter the dates that apply to your working calendar.

Counting includes both endpoints when they are working days. Reversing the dates gives the same count with a negative sign. Adding days starts after the source date: Friday plus one business day is Monday with Saturday and Sunday excluded.

Weekend days and holidays come only from your choices. This is not a national holiday or legal deadline calendar. Calculations support years 0001–9999, ranges up to 366,000 calendar dates, additions of up to 50,000 business days, and up to 1,000 holiday entries.

EXAMPLES & HELP

Count business days and find a working-day deadline

Working days depend on your schedule. Choose your weekend days and supply any holiday or closure dates you want to exclude. The calculator does not silently apply a country’s public holidays or your employer’s leave rules.

How to use this calculator

  1. Choose whether to count working days between dates or move a date by a number of working days.
  2. Select your weekend days and enter excluded dates as YYYY-MM-DD, separated by commas or new lines.
  3. Calculate the result. Counting a range includes qualifying endpoints; moving by working days starts after the starting date.

Worked examples

Count a Friday-to-Monday range

Start with
3–6 July 2026. Saturday and Sunday are weekends. No excluded dates.
Result
2 working days.

Friday and Monday count; Saturday and Sunday do not. Both endpoints count because both are working days under these chosen rules. This example does not apply public holidays.

Add one working day with a closure

Start with
Start: Friday 3 July 2026. Add 1 working day. Exclude Monday 6 July.
Result
Tuesday, 7 July 2026

Without the closure, the answer is Monday, 6 July 2026. With Monday excluded, counting continues to Tuesday. The starting Friday is not counted as the added day.

Common questions

Are public holidays included automatically?

No. Use Public holidays to find relevant dates, then enter the exclusions that apply to your workplace. An observed weekday may be more relevant than the holiday’s weekend date.

Can I choose a weekend other than Saturday and Sunday?

Yes. Choose the weekday checkboxes that match your calendar. Keep at least one day available for work. Holidays already falling on a chosen weekend are not deducted twice.

Does this determine an official filing or delivery deadline?

It calculates the rules you provide. Official deadlines can use special counting, closure and cut-off rules. Confirm those rules with the organization responsible before relying on a result.
